It is easy to see why H.D.'s work was forgotten for so long. It is tough for a poet who as an early Imagiste was in the pantheon of poets and writers such as Ezra Pound, T. S. Eliot and James Joyce. There is no question in retrospect that she truly needs to be reevaluated.This early collections truly demonstrates the roots of the early Imagism and certainly the mark of a poet who is stripping bare her poems of needless words yet for all its modernism hints, only hints at classical Greek and Latin antecedents. This a a important collection for anyone who wishes to develop an understanding and appreciation of this artist. It is also a great collection of poetry for who those poetry readers who still exist today. In this collections are all the signposts and hints of her future greatness while admirably demonstrating how and why imagism developed. I am so "pround" that I did not mention them.

a vital poet in the history of american writing who seems to have slipped under the radar - I was happy to real & enjoy this vibrant writer

What the hell did I just buy? This is not a real edition of the book, it's an auto-generated, abusively ugly atrocity. can do this because the content is in the public domain. Don't be fooled.
